  • 500 g or 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 250 mL or 1 cup All-Bran Buds* cereal
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 60 mL or ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 30 mL or 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 5 mL or 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 mL or ½ tsp each, salt and fresh cracked pepper
  • 125 mL or ½ cup Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 5 mL or 1 tsp vegetable oil

1. In a large bowl, combine beef, cereal, egg, onion, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and Cheddar. Mix until just combined and shape in to 4 patties, avoid over mixing to ensure burgers will not be tough.

2. In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4 minutes per side or until cooked through. Alternatively, cook patties on a greased grill over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side.

3. Serve on a toasted bun with your favourite condiments.
